As we honor all of our veterans past and present today, we are proud that so many folks coming back from the field have been inspired to become clean tech entrepreneurs. The White House honored these “Champions of Change” at a ceremony last week where a dozen vets talked about their reasons for becoming innovators in climate change solutions. Their solutions include energy efficiency, innovative transportation, energy storage, renewable energy, clean investment, and clean energy training.
These veterans have seen up close the threat climate change poses to our national security and have taken it upon themselves to start solving it. One of the biggest messages these men and women who served our country conveyed is that clean energy and climate change should not be politicized; our environment benefits everyone—not just Democrats or Republicans. We certainly hope that sentiment can take hold as we consider the security, safety, and health of our nation and the globe. These twelve and many others have given us a good start.
