The Solar Foundation today released a census of solar job growth here in the US over the past year. The industry added 119,000 solar jobs (defined as workers who spend at least 50% of their time on solar-related activities), showing a 13.3% growth over 2011. Of these, 86% were new jobs. By comparison, the U.S. economy has only grown 2.3% in last year as it comes out of the recession and fossil fuel jobs actually decreased by 3.77% over the same period of time.
