We are looking forward to sharing with followers of the Compass blog – brought to you by the team at 38 North Solutions – a guidebook of federal agency and Congressional policy happenings, and other tidbits of interesting information that might provide helpful to those in the clean technology, renewable energy, and innovation communities in the coming weeks and months.
First up, we’d like to share this Multiple-Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) Request for Proposal (RFP), released last week by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, for $7 billion in federal contracts to procure renewable and alternative energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). This is a significant action for the Department of Defense (DoD) in the renewable energy contracting space.
For those interested in pursuing this opportunity with the military, the Army Corps will host a pre-proposal conference in Hunstville, AL, on August 22, 2012 on the contract “Renewable and Alternative Energy Power Production for DoD Installations.” The event should be a good way for interested companies to connect with the military and others in the renewable energy industry looking to enter into the DoD contracting space. Registration is first-come, first served and is restricted to two representatives from each company.
More information on the opportunity and the pre-proposal conference can be found on the Army Corps’ website: http://www.hnd.usace.army.mil/pao/NewsReleases/2012/12-051_RFP_Conference_Redstone.pdf
